The exhibition launched at the 10th EUSAIR Annual Forum in Georgioupolis, Crete (May 6-7, 2025), connecting art to the EU’s important goal of ensuring everyone has the right to stay in their home.
The artworks highlight the experiences of those who cross borders: whether staying elsewhere in Europe while maintaining their Adriatic-Ionian identity, returning home after living abroad, or experiencing the cycle of leaving and coming back.
These experiences of migration and belonging reflect the challenges that EU programmes like Interreg IPA and EUSAIR address through place-based solutions. These programmes help regions improve public services, education, healthcare, transport, and digital connectivity, making it easier for people to choose their own path.
The exhibition generated conversations among Forum participants about how policy and art intersect in addressing Europe’s demographic realities. EUSAIR Youth Council members discussed these themes and shared how they relate to the artworks.
